Local website preview / 7 October 2026

Your details
in this preview.

This development version tests newsletter signup, product interest and investor enquiries on Simon’s computer. It does not send emails.

What is recorded

Forms record your email, the type of enquiry, your consent choices and the time of the submission. Optional fields include your name, country, number of cats and enquiry message. If you use the Your BatCat chooser, the sales form shows the tier, household, main interest and character artwork preferences before submission. You can remove those preferences and add your own enquiry text. They are recorded only when you submit that form. Optional newsletter topics are shown on the signup form and recorded in its message only when you submit. Leaving topics blank requests general updates without a saved topic preference. Please use test details while reviewing the site.

Where it goes

When the local preview server is running, entries are saved in a local database outside the website files. No newsletter service, payment processor or customer account is connected. Submissions are not displayed publicly or included in the website upload package.

Your choices

A newsletter signup requires an explicit permission checkbox. Selecting a topic does not give that permission. Product and investor enquiries require permission to contact you about that enquiry; the newsletter checkbox is separate and optional. If you repeat a submission, a previously saved consent choice is retained. There is no public unsubscribe service in this local prototype because no emails are sent.

Before public signup opens

A public signup service needs a confirmed operator and contact address, hosting and newsletter delivery, data retention choices and a working way to withdraw consent. This preview notice will need to be replaced with the notice for that service. On a static copy without the local signup service, forms remain closed.

Support drafts and staff sign-in

The support form prepares an email draft in page memory; it does not send or save it on the website. Opening your email app transfers the draft to that app for you to review and send. Downloading a guide or email draft creates a text file on your device. The public Staff login page opens private BCHQ; it does not collect your password or save a private address entered there. Private BCHQ stores staff accounts separately on its PC, using password hashes and time-limited sign-in cookies. Staff records are not part of this public website package.

Site storage

On whorrall.com, a simple view counter records the page name and adds to total and daily page-load counts. Repeat visits and automated checks may count; this is not a count of unique people. It saves no IP address, visitor identifier, referrer, query string or contact details. Daily totals use UTC and are kept for up to 400 days; lifetime page totals remain. The counter adds no cookies or browser storage. Local previews and the test folder do not add to these totals. The hosting provider may keep its own normal access and security logs separately. An explicit “Take this character to my plan” link can carry a public character ID to the planning page. That ID may appear in the URL, history or website request logs before the page removes it from its visible URL. The page labels the imported artwork preference and lets you remove it. It sends no contact details or care-tour records through the link. The accepted cat and advocate artwork and the BatCat design assets are served with the page. Character voice samples are on the Characters page; the owner-app tour remains scripted and silent. Saved synthetic voice auditions are served from this website when you click a cat or use Play. Playback requires no microphone permission and uploads no recording. Listening does not give contact permission or submit an enquiry. Clicking a cat also selects its portrait preference within this page; using the audio controls alone does not select a portrait. With the enhanced player, clicking a cat starts its sample and stops the previous one. Clicking the same cat replays its sample; Stop audio or leaving the page stops playback. Audio does not start when the page loads or becomes visible. Without JavaScript, use each sample’s standard audio controls. Chooser selections before submission and fictional tour notes, reminders, completion/cancellation records and guide choices stay in page memory only and are lost when their page is reloaded or left. A chosen artwork preference travels between pages only through the explicit character-to-plan link. Fictional tour records and guide choices are never attached to the signup or enquiry. An explicit Download my plan action creates a text file on your device containing only your current household, planned tier, main interest and selected artwork preference. It sends nothing and includes no contact details or tour records. Keep or delete that file using your device’s usual controls. A chooser summary is sent to the signup service only through the reviewed sales form. Newsletter topics are included only with a submitted newsletter signup. Investor briefing filters and downloads add no personal data; choosing an enquiry topic places text in the form for you to review, and only submitting the form records it.

This describes the development preview as implemented. Public service arrangements remain to be settled.
